Founded in Paris in 1952 by Egyptian-born Gaby Aghion, Chloé has always represented a freewheeling bohemian hipsters such as Sienna Miller and Kate Moss. The label’s lure resides in its effortless mix of street chic—influenced by London’s girls about town—and luxe. Currently, the house is searching for a successor to its most recent head, Phoebe Philo, who left in 2007 to spend more time with her family. Her interim replacement, Yvan Mispelaere, recently exited to head up Gucci. Chloé has one of the best pedigrees of any label, with previous designers including Karl Lagerfeld (twice), Martine Sitbon, and Stella McCartney.
